Our story began in the late 1980s, when Brian and Brenda Kouwenhoven were working together at RUMGER Insurance Company, a direct writer of professional liability insurance in Florida.

They founded Kouwenhoven & Associates Inc. in 1993 with the knowledge that their niche expertise in professional liability insurance and risk management made them a stronger ally to law firms than the general insurance agency.

Today, we are known as the go-to experts for professional liability insurance. We currently insure more than 1,000 law firms and are consistently one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the field.
